IT Project Manager/ Delivery Manager

Location: Wembley

Company Overview:

Flannery Plant Hire is one of the UK's leading providers of operated and self-drive plant equipment, supporting major infrastructure and construction projects nationwide. Through investment in people, technology, and innovation, we continue to build the workforce of the future.

About the Role:

We're looking for an IT Project Manager / Delivery Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects that keep this scale of operation running smoothly — from depot systems and telematics/fleet-management platforms to machine control and GPS technology, plus the core business systems that support our people, safety, and sustainability commitments. You'll act as the bridge between business stakeholders (across depots, operations, and digital construction), technical teams, and vendors — ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality. This role suits someone who thrives on structure, communicates clearly under pressure, and knows how to keep complex, cross-functional work moving across a nationwide depot network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end delivery of IT projects, from scoping and planning through execution, go-live, and post-launch review — including projects spanning our Head Office and depot network
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders across IT, Digital Construction, Operations, and depot teams
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, infrastructure, security, digital construction/machine control, QA, business analysts) to ensure alignment
  • Support delivery of telematics, fleet-management, and machine control/GPS system projects alongside our Digital Construction team
  • Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating proactively when needed
  • Manage vendor and third-party relationships, including contracts, SOWs, and SLAs where relevant
  • Run regular status meetings, steering committees, and stakeholder updates with clear, concise reporting to depots and Head Office alike
  • Maintain project documentation: charters, RAID logs, status reports, change requests, and post-implementation reviews
  • Apply appropriate delivery methodology (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) based on project needs
  • Manage change control and ensure scope changes are properly assessed and approved
  • Support budget tracking and forecasting, flagging variances early
  • Champion continuous improvement of delivery processes, tools, and templates across the IT function, supporting Flannery's ongoing investment in digital and sustainable innovation

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
