About The Role

At Barchester, we are offering a rare opportunity for an experienced IT Project Manager to join us in a new permanent position. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of IT projects ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to a high-quality standard. You will work closely with project sponsors and key stakeholders to define, shape, and deliver project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful delivery of IT projects across Barchester's portfolio
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables with clear success measures
  • Produce investment case papers to support project proposals
  • Maintain the change calendar for all planned service-impacting activities
  • Identify and manage demand on IT resources, ensuring team capacity is aligned
  • Support the IT Director in prioritising initiatives based on demand and business needs
  • Communicate project expectations clearly to team members and stakeholders
  • Proactively manage project risks and escalate where appropriate through governance channels
  • Apply robust change control processes for any deviations from agreed objectives

About You

You're an organised, knowledgeable, and driven IT Project Manager with a passion for delivering high-quality outcomes. You thrive in fast-paced environments and can balance multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. With strong stakeholder management and communication skills, you are confident engaging at all levels of the organisation. You bring a proactive approach to risk management and problem-solving, and you are comfortable taking ownership of projects from inception through to completion.

Essential Experience

  • Degree-level education or equivalent, with relevant project management expertise
  • Strong knowledge of technical infrastructure and application delivery projects
  • Proven experience managing multi-million-pound projects
  • Solid understanding of formal project delivery methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile)
  • Demonstrable track record of successfully delivering complex projects
  • Flexibility to travel when required
