IT Project Manager
Day Rate: £675 inside IR35 via Rockford Payroll
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 6 months
Location: London, 5 days a week
Role Summary
The IT Project Manager is responsible for leading complex technology projects from initiation through to closure, with a particular focus on delivering AI use cases within complex trading, investment banking, financial services, or energy environments. The role requires strong project leadership, governance, financial control, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage delivery across multiple teams, suppliers, and dependencies.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced project manager with a strong track record of delivering complex technology change in regulated environments. They will be confident managing senior stakeholders, maintaining control across scope, budget, and delivery, and supporting the successful adoption of AI-enabled solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Project delivery leadership: Lead projects through initiation, planning, execution, transition, and closure, ensuring delivery against agreed objectives.
- Integrated planning: Maintain comprehensive project plans covering scope, budget, quality, milestones, and dependencies.
- Financial and change control: Manage project finances, forecasts, and change control processes to maintain delivery discipline.
- Governance and reporting: Establish and maintain effective governance, reporting, and escalation mechanisms.
- Risk and dependency management: Identify, track, and manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stakeholder engagement: Work closely with sponsors, business stakeholders, delivery teams, and technical specialists to ensure alignment and progress.
- Supplier management: Manage third-party suppliers and ensure delivery commitments are met.
- Business readiness and transition: Ensure solutions are transitioned effectively into business-as-usual, with appropriate adoption, readiness, and support arrangements in place.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience delivering large-scale technology projects.
- Strong experience in project governance and financial management.
- Experience delivering across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Recent, hands-on experience delivering AI use cases in complex trading, investment banking, financial services, or energy environments.

Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, MSP, or PgMP certification.
- Experience in energy, financial services, or other regulated industries.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, and Jira.
Rate Breakdown via Rockford Payroll
- Day Rate Inside IR35: £675
- Agreed Contractor Rate: £520.77
- Equivalent Annum Salary: £135,401.30
- Monthly Net Pay: £7,684.23
