IT Project Manager
Location: Stirling, Scotland/Hybrid
Salary: £50,000-£60,000 + Excellent Benefits
Hays Technology are delighted to be partnering with a leading public sector organisation to recruit an experienced IT Project Manager to join a well-established Programme Management Office (PMO).
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of strategically important projects that support large-scale organisational transformation. Working across professional services and digital functions, you will manage projects ranging from major systems implementations and business transformation initiatives to service redesign and data-driven change programmes.
The Role
As an experienced IT Project Manager, you will take ownership of projects throughout the full lifecycle, from initiation and planning through to implementation and closure. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, business leaders, technical teams, and external suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and achieve their intended benefits.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the delivery of complex projects and transformation initiatives
- Developing project plans, governance structures, and reporting frameworks
- Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and external partners
- Managing risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests
- Preparing reports and updates for senior leadership and governance boards
- Supporting business readiness, implementation, and benefits realisation
- Building strong stakeholder relationships and providing effective project leadership

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience delivering projects from initiation through to completion within a structured project management environment
- Strong knowledge of project governance, reporting, and risk management
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Experience supporting business transformation, service improvement, systems implementation, or organisational change programmes
- Outstanding communication, analytical, and organisational abilities
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience

- PRINCE2, APM, AgilePM, or similar project management certification
- Experience within higher education, public sector, or similarly complex organisations
- Delivery of ERP, CRM, digital transformation, data transformation, or major business change projects
- Experience working within a PMO, programme, or portfolio management environment
