IT Project / Solutions Engineer – Swansea

We’re currently working with a growing IT and Cyber Security provider with an established UK and international client base, who are looking to appoint an IT Project / Solutions Engineer to join their Solutions team in Swansea.

This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional who is ready to move beyond traditional IT support and build a career across technical solutions, project delivery, and client management.

If you enjoy understanding a client's challenges, developing practical technology solutions, and seeing projects through from initial concept to implementation, this could be a great next step.

🔧 The Role

You’ll work closely with clients, technical teams, suppliers, and third-party vendors to deliver a varied portfolio of IT projects and solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing IT projects from requirements and planning through to implementation
  • Working directly with clients to understand their technology requirements
  • Helping scope and develop appropriate IT solutions
  • Coordinating internal technical teams and external suppliers
  • Creating project plans, timelines, milestones, and delivery objectives
  • Managing multiple projects and priorities
  • Monitoring risks, issues, dependencies, and progress
  • Acting as a key client contact throughout the project lifecycle
  • Coordinating hardware, software, infrastructure, networking, and cloud implementations
  • Supporting infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and technology improvements
  • Providing technical input and troubleshooting where required
  • Working alongside technical specialists to ensure successful delivery
  • Maintaining project documentation and providing regular updates
  • Identifying opportunities to improve client environments
  • Taking ownership of projects from concept through to completion

👤 About You

We're looking for someone who combines solid technical IT knowledge with strong communication and project coordination skills. You’ll ideally have:

  • 3+ years’ experience in IT Projects, Solutions, Infrastructure, or a similar role
  • Experience working within larger or complex client environments
  • MSP or client-facing IT experience would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure
  • Hands-on knowledge across hardware, software, systems, and networking
  • Experience with servers, storage, network devices, and Wi-Fi
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining IT infrastructure
  • Microsoft 365 and Azure experience preferred
  • Good knowledge of Windows and Active Directory
  • Understanding of networking, firewalls, and cloud technologies
  • Experience coordinating technical teams, suppliers, or third parties
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach
