Role Purpose

The purpose of the role is to generate genuine sales opportunities and build strong relationships with potential customers. The focus is not simply on making a high number of calls, but on having quality conversations with decision-makers, identifying business needs and converting these into qualified opportunities and long-term customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Have quality conversations with key decision-makers and potential customers.
  • Identify customer needs and understand how the company's IT/technology solutions can support them.
  • Generate new business opportunities through proactive sales activity.
  • Book qualified meetings for the sales/technical team.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
  • Develop relationships with prospective customers and nurture opportunities.
  • Work closely with the technical team to understand the services and solutions being offered.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, opportunities and pipeline.
  • Work closely with the MD and wider business to help develop the company's sales function.

Key Performance Measures

  • Success in the role will be measured by:
    • Quality conversations with decision-makers.
    • Qualified meetings booked.
    • New opportunities generated.
    • Pipeline value created.
    • Ultimately, the ability to turn opportunities into long-term customers.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience in B2B sales.
  • Previous experience in sales, business development, account management or a customer-focused role.
  • Confident communicating with people at different levels of an organisation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable speaking to decision-makers and building professional relationships.
  • Able to identify customer requirements through effective questioning and listening.
  • Results-driven and motivated by achieving targets.
  • Organised and able to manage multiple opportunities at different stages.
  • Able to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
  • Confident using IT systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Professional, proactive and enthusiastic approach.
  • Willingness to learn about technical products and services.

Desirable

  • Previous experience selling IT, technology or managed services (MSP).
  • Experience working with a CRM and managing a sales pipeline.
  • Understanding of lead generation and qualification.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders or business decision-makers.

Job Details

Location: Hybrid / Leicester office (minimum 2 days per week in the office)

Employment: Full-time

Salary: £28,000-£30,000 + uncapped commission
