Our client, a leading organisation within the banking and financial services sector, is seeking an IT Security Assistant Vice President to join their dynamic team.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to enhancing the organisation's cybersecurity framework and risk management processes.

Role: IT Security Assistant VP

Duration: 12 Months

Location: London (Hybrid, 5 days out of 10 a week in office)

Rate: £485 per day (umbrella)

Role Overview:

The GRC IT Security Assistant Vice President will play a pivotal role within the Cyber Governance, Risk & Compliance / Cyber Third-Party Management function. This role is integral in managing cybersecurity, technology risk, third-party risk, cloud risk, regulatory compliance, and security governance activities across the organisation.

Third-Party Risk Management:

  • Manage security due diligence for new and existing suppliers.
  • Coordinate vendor security assessments and review security questionnaires.
  • Evaluate supplier security controls and track remediation plans.

Cyber Governance & Risk Management:

  • Support the operation of the Information Security Governance Framework.
  • Facilitate cyber risk identification, assessment, and reporting.
  • Maintain cyber risk registers and produce governance reporting.

Security Assessment & Assurance:

  • Execute security risk assessments, including third-party and cloud security reviews.
  • Review assessment findings and recommend remediation actions.

Audit & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Support Internal and External Audit activities.
  • Assist with compliance against regulations and industry standards.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management:

  • Build strong relationships across technology, cyber, risk, and business teams.
  • Engage with suppliers regarding assessment activities and remediation plans.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong background in Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) and Cyber Security Governance.
  • Familiarity with Security Due Diligence Assessments and Regulatory Compliance.

  • 3+ years in Cyber Security, Information Security Governance, or Technology Risk within a regulated environment, preferably in banking or financial services.

Competencies:

  • Excellent analytical thinking and communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management abilities and a proactive approach to risk management.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud security governance and operational resilience.
  • Familiarity with tools such as ProcessUnity, ServiceNow, and Power BI.
