About the Role
We build the embodied intelligence that moves real vehicles safely, and the ecosystem a billion machines will run on in the future. Very few people in AI can say this. Every role here, whatever the team, plugs into that.
🛠️ About our SPINE Teams
SPINE builds and operates the technology foundation that keeps Wayve secure, connected and productive. Our teams support a mixed Mac, Windows and Linux estate across offices, labs, garages and test facilities in six countries. You’ll lead a distributed IT and security team across the UK, Germany and the US, partnering closely with our Helpdesk, Network and Compliance teams.
🧠 Your day-to-day
You’ll lead, hire and develop a growing team while remaining hands-on for the technical decisions that matter most. You’ll set direction across identity, endpoint management, security operations, SaaS and asset lifecycle; review designs and standards; and help engineers grow into trusted domain owners. You’ll also work with peer leaders to maintain clear ownership and ensure that our controls remain effective as Wayve scales.
🧩 What you’ll be working on
- Owning and evolving Okta, including SSO migrations, application onboarding, access automation and the evidence behind access revocation.
- Strengthening endpoint security, vulnerability management, patching, privileged access and incident response across Mac, Windows and Linux.
- Improving device and asset lifecycle management, inventory accuracy, SaaS administration and licensing.
- Building scalable controls and reliable evidence for customer and security requirements, including TISAX, ISO 27001 or similar standards.
- Growing a newly formed team into a high-performing group of domain owners.
🙌 You should apply if
- You’ve led an IT, security or infrastructure team, including hiring, performance management and developing engineers.
- You have deep hands-on experience with identity platforms such as Okta or Entra, endpoint management tools such as Jamf or Intune, and SaaS administration.
- You’ve managed Linux fleets alongside Mac and Windows environments.
- You have practical experience across security operations, including hardening, vulnerability and patch management, access reviews and incident response.
- You’ve implemented controls and produced evidence for a security certification or audit such as TISAX, ISO 27001 or SOC 2.
- You can use scripting or infrastructure-as-code tools to automate processes and set a strong technical standard.
- You’re comfortable scaling a multi-site corporate environment and working collaboratively with peer leaders across clearly defined areas of ownership.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

More about Wayve
🚀 Wayve is building the leading AI platform for autonomous driving. We are pioneering an end to end AI approach that enables vehicles to learn directly from real world experience, developing the ability to adapt, generalise and improve at scale. Instead of relying on hand coded rules or pre mapped environments, our AI Driver learns to drive by understanding the world around it. The result is technology that navigates complex urban environments with intelligence, precision and natural flow, unlocking meaningful advances in both safety and efficiency.
We believe autonomy represents a once in a generation transformation in how people and goods move, comparable to the shift from horses to cars, and from human driven vehicles to intelligent machines.
Our ambition is to make autonomy universal. Wayve’s mapless and hardware agnostic AI platform integrates with global OEM partners, enabling continuous software evolution and unlocking advanced levels of automation from L2 plus through to L4 as our core AI model scales. In a race increasingly defined by intelligence and real world learning, Wayve is taking a distinct approach, building a generalisable driving intelligence that can power any vehicle, anywhere. By combining embodied AI with scalable deployment, we are creating technology that can be shaped to each OEM brand and driver experience, accelerating the transition to a safer, more intelligent future of mobility.

A quick, honest note before you apply
Wayve is not a mature, fully-structured place with the playbook already written. Much of how we work is still being written, and if you join, you’ll help write it. That suits people who want real ownership more than people who need a settled structure from day one.
