Job Description

About the Role

As a leader within our Service Desk operation, you will be responsible for ensuring the service is responsive, customer-focused, and continually evolving to meet the needs of the organisation. As an experienced and people-focused IT Service Desk & Support Manager, you will lead the delivery of a high-performing IT support function that enables colleagues to work effectively and efficiently.

Acting as the primary interface between IT and the business, you will play a critical role in shaping how colleagues experience technology, balancing exceptional customer service with strong operational control, governance, and compliance.

You will lead the Service Desk team, including first-line support, triage, and walk-up support capabilities, ensuring incidents, service requests, access management activities, and user lifecycle processes are handled consistently and effectively. Supporting users, you will create an environment where service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything the team delivers.

Beyond business-as-usual operations, you will be instrumental in improving the overall user experience. You will work to enhance service portal capabilities, knowledge management, self-service adoption, and support technologies such as virtual agents and chatbots. By analysing trends and user feedback, you will identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce demand, and improve service outcomes.

Working closely with Service Delivery, Incident Management, Problem Management, and Service Improvement teams, you will ensure the Service Desk is not simply a reactive support function but an active contributor to wider service improvement initiatives. You will also take ownership of access management and joiner, mover, and leaver processes, ensuring they remain secure, auditable, and aligned with regulatory requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
