Located in Runcorn, United Kingdom, our newly extended 120,000 sq. ft. facility is a fully integrated site offering comprehensive manufacturing, repair, and overhaul services to the major players in the landing gear industry. Designated as a Center of Excellence, the facility specializes in surface treatment and assembly of small to medium sized
Job Summary
Héroux-Devtek is seeking a motivated and customer-focused IT Technician to provide first-line technical support across our Runcorn manufacturing site. The successful candidate will support end users with hardware, software, network and system issues while helping to ensure the smooth operation of the site's IT infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their IT career within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line IT support to end users via face-to-face interactions, phone, email and remote support.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, printer, network and system-related issues in a timely manner.
- Log, track, prioritise and resolve incidents and service requests using the IT Service Management (ITSM) system.
- Escalate complex technical issues to second-line support or specialist teams where required.
- Install, configure and maintain desktop PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers and associated peripherals.
- Support user account administration, password resets and access management within Microsoft environments.
- Assist with workstation deployments, hardware upgrades and equipment replacements.
- Support Microsoft Windows operating systems and core Microsoft technologies.
- Assist with network troubleshooting, connectivity issues and basic administration tasks.
- Maintain accurate documentation of support activities, technical procedures and asset records.
- Ensure compliance with company IT security policies and industry best practices.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives and assist with identifying and remediating security risks.
- Maintain IT asset inventory and ensure equipment is properly tracked throughout its lifecycle.

Skills and Experience
- Education in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Understanding of Service Desk operations, including incident management, ticket handling, prioritisation and escalation processes.
- Experience supporting Windows-based desktop environments.
- Good knowledge of computer hardware, laptops, desktops, printers and peripheral devices.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement.
