What is the purpose of the IT Service Manager (User Experience and Software Assets)?
As the IT Service Manager (User Experience and Software Assets), you'll help make sure our software and licensing services are well managed, cost effective and easy for colleagues to use. You'll work with teams across the NSPCC and with external suppliers to improve software services, reduce risk, and support the organisation's goals.
This role plays a key part in helping colleagues and volunteers access secure and reliable software. You'll contribute by:
- Managing software assets and licences across the organisation.
- Reducing software risks through effective lifecycle and vulnerability management.
- Improving services, processes and value from technology investments.

What will I be doing as an IT Service Manager (User Experience and Software Assets)?
In this role, you'll lead the day-to-day management and improvement of software asset and licensing services. You'll work closely with colleagues, suppliers and technology teams to ensure software remains secure, supported and provides good value. You'll have the opportunity to improve how software is managed across the organisation and help colleagues get the tools they need to deliver vital services.
- Manage the organisation's software assets, licences and related services.
- Work with suppliers to manage renewals, contracts and licensing arrangements.
- Support software release, patching and end-of-life processes.
- Maintain the Definitive Software Library and related management tools.
- Identify opportunities to improve services, reduce costs and strengthen compliance.
What skills do I need to be an IT Service Manager (User Experience and Software Assets)?
We're looking for someone with experience managing software assets, licences or technology services. You'll be comfortable working with a range of stakeholders, using information and insight to support decisions and service improvements. You may have gained this experience in software asset management, service management, supplier management or a similar role.
- Experience managing software assets, licences or software lifecycle activities.
- Experience working with suppliers and managing contracts or service performance.
- Experience identifying opportunities to improve services or reduce costs.
- Knowledge of IT service management and working within an ITIL environment.
