IT Service Transition Manager
London / Hybrid
Contract Role
Up to £400 day rate (Outside IR35)
6-9 Months with potential to extend!
Talentedge is working with a large, well-established consumer-facing organisation undergoing a significant technology transformation programme. As part of this programme, the business is transitioning from its incumbent Managed Service Provider (MSP) to a new strategic technology partner.
They are looking for an experienced IT Service Transition Manager to take ownership of the client-side coordination of this transition and help ensure services move successfully into the new operating model.
This is a key role sitting between internal technology teams, the incoming MSP, the incumbent provider and a number of third-party suppliers.
Rather than personally delivering each technical workstream, you will be responsible for maintaining a joined-up view across the transition, ensuring dependencies are understood, risks and issues are identified early, and activity across different teams remains coordinated.
The Role
- Coordinate the overall service transition plan, milestones and dependencies
- Act as a key client-side contact across internal teams, the incoming MSP, incumbent provider and third-party suppliers
- Work alongside technical and transition teams to ensure activity across different workstreams is aligned
- Support discovery and validation of the existing technology environment
- Coordinate migration and transition activity across infrastructure, cloud, networking and end-user services
- Track and manage programme risks, issues and dependencies, escalating where required
- Coordinate knowledge transfer, documentation and access handovers between providers
- Support service readiness, testing, cutover planning and Early Life Support
- Track incumbent exit activity and the decommissioning of legacy services
- Coordinate connectivity and infrastructure migration activity
- Provide clear and regular transition reporting to programme leadership and key stakeholders
- Help ensure new services transition effectively into BAU

About You
- Strong IT service transition or technology transformation experience
- Previous experience of an MSP transition, outsourcing change or supplier migration
- Experience coordinating multiple technical workstreams and external suppliers
- A good understanding of infrastructure, networking, cloud and IT service management
- Strong risk, issue and dependency management experience
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- The confidence to challenge suppliers and technical stakeholders constructively
- Experience working within a complex technology environment
- Knowledge of ITIL and service transition principles

Experience with cloud platforms, Microsoft technologies, networking, connectivity or infrastructure migration would be advantageous.
Experience coordinating data centre, hosted infrastructure or network migrations would also be beneficial, alongside formal project or programme management qualifications such as PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent.
