A forward-thinking public sector organisation in West Yorkshire is seeking an experienced Solution Designer/Infrastructure Lead to join its growing technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future technology landscape of a complex organisation that is committed to innovation, digital transformation, and delivering an exceptional experience for its users.
Your new role
As a Solution Designer/Infrastructure Lead, you will be responsible for translating business requirements into secure, scalable, and resilient technology solutions. Working closely with business stakeholders, developers, infrastructure specialists, and delivery teams, you will play a key role in ensuring technology solutions align with strategic objectives and architectural standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing end-to-end technology solutions across infrastructure, networks, and cyber security
- Translating business requirements into technical designs and solution specifications
- Developing and maintaining solution architecture documentation, standards, and blueprints
- Ensuring solutions are secure, integrated, scalable, and fit for purpose
- Providing technical leadership throughout the solution lifecycle
- Collaborating with technical and business teams to deliver successful outcomes
- Evaluating emerging technologies and recommending suitable solutions
- Conducting risk assessments and supporting mitigation planning
- Facilitating stakeholder workshops to gather and validate requirements
- Supporting Agile delivery methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives

What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in Solution Design, Solution Architecture, or a Technical Lead doing a similar role
- Strong background in infrastructure, cloud, networking, and cyber security technologies
- Experience designing secure and scalable enterprise solutions within complex environments
- Strong understanding of system integration, enterprise architecture principles, and technical governance
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
- Ability to translate business needs into practical technical solutions
- Experience within public sector, or similarly complex organisations would be advantageous.
