We're looking for an experienced IT Solutions Presales Engineer to join the Commercial team at The HBP Group.
You'll bridge the gap between customer requirements and technical delivery, working closely with Sales, Professional Services and our Technical teams to design secure, scalable and commercially effective IT solutions.
This is a customer facing role for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness and the ability to turn complex technology into clear business outcomes.
What you'll be doing
- Leading customer discovery sessions, technical audits and site surveys
- Designing modern Microsoft based infrastructure solutions
- Supporting Sales during technical customer conversations
- Creating solution designs, technical proposals and architecture documentation
- Providing technical guidance throughout project delivery
- Ensuring smooth handovers between Sales, Projects and Support
- Building trusted relationships with customers and senior stakeholders
- Identifying improvements to customer environments and technology roadmaps

What we're looking for
You'll ideally have at least five years' experience within IT Presales, Solutions Architecture, Technical Consultancy or a Senior Infrastructure role.
You'll also need:
- Strong experience designing Microsoft based infrastructure solutions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Commercial awareness and confidence speaking with customers
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders
- Strong technical documentation and solution design skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Right to work in the UK
Technical experience
We're particularly interested in experience across:
- Microsoft 365
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot
- Windows Server
- SharePoint
- Microsoft Security technologies
- Networking, VLANs and managed switching
- Firewalls
- Backup and Disaster Recovery
- Physical servers and virtualisation

Microsoft certifications such as SC 900 and MS 900 would be advantageous.
