I.T. SOX Lead
2 days per week in the West Midlands.
Up to £90K plus benefits.
We are partnering with a leading organisation as they continue to strengthen and develop their SOX and internal controls environment. They are looking to appoint an experienced I.T. SOX Lead to take ownership of the technology controls framework and play a key role in ensuring the organisation remains compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. This is a high-profile role with exposure across the wider business, working closely with Internal Audit, Finance, IT, Risk, Compliance and senior stakeholders. The successful candidate will have strong experience across IT General Controls (ITGC), SOX, IT risk and controls testing, with the ability to operate confidently across both technical and business environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design, implementation and ongoing management of the organisation's IT SOX control framework.
- Own the end-to-end delivery of IT SOX activities, including scoping, risk assessment, control design, walkthroughs, testing, remediation and reporting.
- Develop and maintain the organisation's IT General Controls (ITGC) framework across areas including:
- Access management
- Change management
- IT operations
- Backup and recovery
- Incident management
- Software development
- Infrastructure controls
- Assess the impact of changes to systems, applications and technology environments on the SOX control framework.
- Coordinate and oversee control testing, ensuring testing is completed to a high standard and within agreed deadlines.
- Identify control deficiencies, assess their severity and agree appropriate remediation plans with control owners.
- Work closely with IT and business stakeholders to implement sustainable improvements to the control environment.
- Provide guidance and challenge to control owners regarding control design, operating effectiveness and evidence requirements.
