As an IT Support & Administrator

As an IT Support & Administrator, you’ll play a pivotal role within our Central Team in London, supporting projects across the UK and Ireland. Join our dynamic team and make a real difference!

The IT Support & Administrator

The IT Support & Administrator will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of our organisation’s IT systems and user support. This role will provide first- and second-line support to staff, complete day-to-day IT administration activities, maintain accurate system records, and support the delivery of IT projects and improvements.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, service delivery focused, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively to keep our systems secure, reliable, and user-friendly.

Key Responsibilities

IT Support

  • Provide timely and effective support to users via company service desk systems, email, phone, and in person.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues across laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and maintain approved applications and hardware.
  • Escalate complex issues as needed, ensuring thorough documentation.

Systems Administration

  • Maintain user accounts, permissions, and security groups across systems such as Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and other business applications.
  • Administer and monitor endpoints using device-management tools (e.g., Intune, MDM solutions).
  • Perform routine system checks, updates, and patch management activities.
  • Maintain asset registers for hardware, software licences, and warranties.

Operational Support & Governance

  • Support IT onboarding and offboarding processes, including device setup and induction support.
  • Assist with monitoring system security alerts and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain and create documentation, SOPs, and knowledge-base articles for IT processes.
  • Support audits and contribute to ongoing improvements in IT controls and governance.

Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the delivery of IT infrastructure and system-upgrade projects.
  • Support the rollout of new technologies and digital-transformation initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations for improving service delivery, user experience, and system stability.

Requirements

Essentials

  • Prior experience in an IT support or IT administrator role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
  • Experience with device configuration and management (Windows OS, Intune/MDM tools).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a service delivery-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive and keen to learn new technologies.
  • Calm under pressure with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Able to build positive relationships and deliver exceptional user support.
  • Willingness to work standard office hours, with occasional out-of-hours work required for system upgrades or urgent incidents.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid/onsite environment, depending on business and operational requirements.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to projects across the UK and Ireland.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with PowerShell or other scripting tools.
  • Experience with ITIL or service-management practices.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity tools and practices.
  • Experience supporting cloud applications or SaaS platforms.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Fundamentals, ITIL Foundation).
