About The Role
The IT Support Analyst role at GroupNexus offers an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled professional to provide first and second-line support for a broad range of solutions, primarily focusing on ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) systems and related hardware. This position involves supporting over 1000 remote sites, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and coordinating onsite engineer dispatches to resolve complex problems. Working closely with the Head of Customer Support & Monitoring, the successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining system integrity, optimizing operational performance, and contributing to the company’s growth strategy.
This role requires a proactive individual with a solid technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders. The position offers a blend of remote working and on-site support, providing diverse challenges and opportunities for professional development within a fast-paced environment. The role is integral to ensuring the seamless operation of the company’s infrastructure, supporting client satisfaction, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in IT support, with relevant experience working within a technical environment. Essential qualifications include a good understanding of Windows operating systems from XP onwards, networking principles, and communication services. Proven experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, as well as familiarity with fault diagnosis methodologies, is required. A background in supporting remote systems and experience with monitoring tools will be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Desirable qualifications include knowledge of ANPR or CCTV systems, scripting skills, and familiarity with the parking industry. Additional expertise in networking, monitoring tools, and hardware configuration will further strengthen a candidate’s suitability for this role.
Responsibilities
- Managing and resolving support tickets efficiently within SLA guidelines, ensuring timely resolution of client issues.
- Performing daily system checks and monitoring incoming alerts using various diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot issues proactively.
- Compiling detailed reports and ad-hoc analysis to support operational decisions and service improvements.
- Supporting the configuration, installation, and commissioning of new sites and solutions, including hardware and software components.
- Providing remote assistance to field engineers during onsite troubleshooting and repairs, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Conducting on-site equipment sign-offs and ensuring hardware is functioning according to specifications.
- Analyzing site data, including vehicle movements, permits, and offenses, to support operational and security objectives.
- Coordinating with internal teams, third-party suppliers, and stakeholders to escalate and resolve complex issues promptly.
- Monitoring network and system performance across multiple platforms, identifying trends and potential vulnerabilities.
- Responding to client inquiries via email and telephone, delivering professional support and guidance.
- Supporting incident management processes through proactive communication and troubleshooting.
- Maintaining documentation related to system configurations, procedures, and incident reports to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.
