IT Support Apprentice

Location: Birmingham
Salary: £26,300 per annum
Contract Type: Fixed-term apprenticeship — expected duration 17 months
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday – Friday.

Most of your apprenticeship will be spent working and you’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience. Apprenticeships also include time away from working for specialist training where you’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Training course: Information communications technician (level 3)

About Us

You will join our internal IT team and gain hands-on experience providing practical technology support across Corstorphine & Wright’s studios. You’ll be supported throughout the apprenticeship as you build your confidence, develop technical skills and gradually take on more responsibility.

What you'll be doing

  • Device deployment, configuration and refresh activities
  • New starter and leaver technology processes
  • Asset management, stock control and inventory maintenance
  • Desk moves and workstation setup
  • Mobile device and peripheral support
  • Meeting room and collaboration technology support
  • Printer support and troubleshooting
  • User administration activities
  • Documentation and knowledge base maintenance
  • Support technology rollouts and improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with our internal IT team, external managed service provider, and other technology suppliers
  • Assist with business application support and administration
  • Microsoft 365 administration
  • Microsoft Intune administration
  • User provisioning
  • Device compliance activities
  • Security housekeeping

You will be supported with the above activities and will work more independently on tasks as you knowledge and skills develop throughout the apprenticeship. This description reflects the core activities of the role but is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be required.

About You

We are looking for candidates who have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Candidates must have five GCSEs at grades 9–4, or equivalent, including English and Maths. Candidates who have completed Level 2 Key Skills or Functional Skills in numeracy and literacy may also be eligible.
