IT Support Associate
We are looking for a talented IT Support Associate to join our team in Systems/Information Technology for Cummins Darlington, County Durham, United Kingdom.
About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a passion for technology, problem solving, software development, business systems, and digital innovation. Working alongside experienced IT professionals, you will support critical manufacturing and supply chain business operations while developing the technical, analytical, and business skills needed to build a successful career within enterprise technology. You will gain hands-on experience with industry-leading applications, data analytics, automation platforms, and emerging Artificial Intelligence technologies that support operational excellence across the Cummins Darlington Campus.
Working Hours
Working onsite – Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm (with flexibility)
Compensation
The compensation for this role is aligned with a local bargained or unionized agreement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide application and technology support for business-critical systems that enable Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Plant Operations across the Cummins Darlington Campus.
- Learn, support, and develop expertise in key enterprise applications including Oracle E-Business Suite (ERP), Dassault Manufacturing Execution System (CMES), and Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate), working alongside experienced team members to deliver business solutions and operational improvements.
- Investigate and resolve application, data, integration, and system-related issues by applying structured problem-solving techniques and collaborating with senior team members to deliver timely and effective solutions.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges, analyze requirements, and identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, quality, and user experience through technology solutions.
- Support the design, development, testing, deployment, and continuous enhancement of business applications, reports, workflows, and digital solutions.
- Contribute to digital transformation initiatives by helping deliver automation, analytics, reporting, and process improvement solutions using modern technologies such as Microsoft Power Platform and Artificial Intelligence tools.
- Assist in gathering and translating business requirements into solution designs, test scenarios, functional specifications, and successful technology implementations.
- Develop and maintain support documentation by creating, updating, and improving process documentation, work instructions, and technical standards to promote consistency and operational excellence.
- Participate in root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and innovation activities by identifying recurring issues and recommending sustainable solutions that deliver measurable business value.
- Collaborate with local and global business teams, IT specialists, vendors, and project teams to support technology projects, application enhancements, and strategic business initiatives.
- Build technical and functional expertise in enterprise systems and emerging technologies while developing into a trusted IT Applications Analyst supporting digital transformation across Manufacturing and Supply Chain operations.
