About The Role
We are seeking a skilled IT Support Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a strong background in networking and infrastructure to contribute to a growing organization. As an integral part of our support team, you will act as an escalation point for first-line support issues, troubleshooting and resolving complex networking, security, and connectivity challenges. Your expertise will be vital in supporting our diverse client base across the UK, ensuring smooth and secure IT operations. The role combines remote support, project work, and occasional on-site client visits, providing comprehensive exposure to networking and infrastructure technologies within a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess relevant technical qualifications and experience, including:
- Proven experience in networking, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall management
- Strong understanding of LAN, WAN, VLAN, and VPN troubleshooting
- Experience supporting wireless infrastructure
- Knowledge of server maintenance, patching, and backup procedures
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
- Experience working within IT security best practices and protocols
Desirable qualifications include familiarity with Windows Server and Hyper-V, Intune, Meraki, MDM solutions, Apple device support, Backup & Disaster Recovery strategies, and Cisco or Fortinet technologies.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- Providing high-quality remote technical support to clients, resolving networking, connectivity, and security issues efficiently
- Acting as an escalation point for first-line support, troubleshooting more complex problems
- Supporting and maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
- Performing server maintenance tasks such as patching, updates, and backups to ensure system integrity
- Implementing and supporting security measures to safeguard client networks and data
- Participating in project work, including network upgrades, migrations, and new infrastructure deployments
- Conducting occasional onsite visits to client locations for hardware installation, troubleshooting, and support
- Maintaining accurate documentation of support activities, network configurations, and system changes
- Staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends, security threats, and best practices to provide proactive support
