About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior IT Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a technically proficient IT professional to take on a pivotal position within a close-knit organization. As a Senior IT Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical support, managing core infrastructure systems, and contributing to the development and enhancement of both internal and customer-facing IT solutions. You will work directly with clients to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensure the stability and security of their systems, and uphold our high standards of customer service. The role involves occasional travel and out-of-hours work to meet client needs and ensure seamless service delivery.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in an IT Support or Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment. You should have a strong understanding of Windows desktop and server operating systems, along with experience in managing Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Active Directory. Familiarity with networking technologies such as DNS, DHCP, routing, switches, routers, and firewalls is essential. Additionally, experience with virtualization platforms like Hyper-V and VMware, remote support tools, and ticketing/documentation systems is required. Candidates must demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills, strong communication abilities, and a customer-focused approach. A full UK driving license is necessary for this role, as it involves travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive desktop, server, and infrastructure support to business clients, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Manage and monitor backup systems and disaster recovery protocols to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity.
  • Maintain and develop remote monitoring and management (RMM) platforms to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Support and administer security solutions including firewalls, antivirus software, and email security systems to protect client assets.
  • Oversee internal systems such as Dynamics CRM and IT Glue, ensuring their effective operation and integration.
  • Handle support tickets, calls, and emails efficiently, prioritizing and resolving issues within agreed service levels.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues, providing timely solutions to clients.
  • Prepare, configure, and deploy PCs, laptops, and other IT equipment to meet client specifications and requirements.
  • Perform hardware upgrades and workshop repairs to maintain equipment reliability and performance.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and records for all support activities and system configurations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by understanding client needs, communicating effectively, and providing ongoing support.
