About The Role
We are seeking a skilled IT Support Engineer to join our dynamic team at Entrust IT. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality technical support to a varied portfolio of clients across Aldershot, Farnborough, and the wider Hampshire region. This position offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple environments, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of client IT infrastructures. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of client systems, supporting modern workplace technologies, and delivering impactful infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience managing and supporting IT infrastructures within organizational environments supporting a user base. Relevant technical certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft certifications, or vendor-specific accreditations are highly desirable. A full UK driving license is essential, given the requirement to visit client sites as needed. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital for effectively liaising with clients and team members. The candidate should demonstrate excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks independently, and experience in project management and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities
- Support and manage Windows-based IT infrastructures, including servers, workstations, and networking equipment.
- Provide technical assistance across PCs, network switches, routers, and servers to ensure seamless operation.
- Assist clients with Microsoft 365 implementations, support, and modern workplace solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, applying best-practice solutions tailored to each environment.
- Plan, deliver, and manage infrastructure upgrades, changes, and projects to meet client needs.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies while managing project timelines and stakeholder expectations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and excellent service delivery.
- Apply industry best practices to optimize IT environments and ensure security and compliance standards are met.
- Work both independently and collaboratively within the team to achieve business objectives and resolve complex technical challenges.
Technical Experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server and Workstations.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and cloud-based solutions.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies and platforms.
- Understanding of LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and broadband networking protocols.
- Experience with backup platforms and disaster recovery solutions.
- Familiarity with working within MSP environments or IT support companies.
- Experience with Microsoft, Citrix, Sophos, Cisco, or Veeam technologies.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or vendor-specific qualifications are advantageous.
