Scope

Sitting within the IT team, this role is responsible for IT Support for the Windracers Group. We are seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to help scale our internal IT team.

As we transition primarily into the defence sector, you will act as the crucial link between our outsourced IT service provider and our in-house teams. You will help to ensure our cloud-native systems remain highly secure, reliable, and compliant during this period of growth, along with assisting in upgrading security and compliance standards to meet UK defence contractor regulations.

Responsibilities/Tasks

  • Serve as the primary on-site IT support person for the business and escalation point for our outsourced IT service provider, taking ownership of support tickets and reducing reliance on external support.
  • Assist with enforcing strict cyber security frameworks across endpoints and cloud environments. Manage access controls, multi-factor authentication (MFA) and system hardening in alignment with defence industry standards.
  • Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting our cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS).
  • Manage user access permissions and hardware/software assets, working towards a zero-trust security model.
  • Act as the interface between IT and business teams.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, senior leaders and external partners.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, configuration records and asset inventories.
  • Support audits, risk assessments, and business continuity planning.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance service reliability, efficiency and user experience.
  • Other responsibilities as agreed with your Manager.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
