IT Support Engineer - Manchester

Up to £26,000-£30,000

Are you an IT professional looking for your next challenge? Step into a pivotal IT Support Engineer role within our expanding IT Team. This role is based in Manchester but the role provides support to all of our Northern offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver responsive 1st and 2nd line support, managing Helpdesk requests against agreed SLAs and escalating when needed.
  • Set up and support laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, software, and workplace technology.
  • Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, Exchange Online, Windows 11, and Windows Server, including user accounts, access, and permissions.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot servers, cloud services, and networks, including DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, switches, Wi-Fi, and VPNs.
  • Manage device provisioning, software deployment, updates, remote support, IT assets, and licenses.
  • Support IT and telecoms needs during office moves, refurbishments, and organisational changes.
  • Respond to security risks and help maintain backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
  • Keep technical documentation up to date and support compliance with Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
  • Help deliver IT projects, upgrades, and service improvements, and guide colleagues on secure, effective use of technology.

This role is based in our Manchester office but there will be regular travel to our other Northern offices.

  • Office upgrades and moves

Skills and Qualifications:

  • CompTIA A+ qualification or equivalent
  • An advantage would be Network +, Security +, ITIL v4 or 5 Foundation
  • Experience in an IT Support Engineer role
  • Advanced technical proficiency and a proven record of engineering excellence.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, suited to working with stakeholders at every level.
  • Creative and analytical problem-solving abilities, with an aptitude for delivering innovative solutions.
  • Organisational skills, able to prioritise competing demands and perform under pressure.
