IT Support Engineer – DV Cleared
Contract / Outside IR35
Preston – Hybrid / 3 days onsite
Initial 6-month contract with potential to be extend
Are you ready to play a key role at the heart of a critical defence programme?
We’re looking for a highly capable IT Support Engineer with active DV clearance to join a specialist team supporting secure and mission-critical systems.
This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-impact environment where your expertise will directly contribute to national security operations.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll be responsible for delivering hands-on technical support and operational IT services within a tightly controlled setting. Working alongside security, engineering, and service teams, you’ll help ensure that vital systems remain reliable, secure, and fully operational.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Providing day-to-day support across secure IT environments
- Managing user accounts, access rights, and permissions in line with strict security protocols
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software assets
- Monitoring system performance, availability, and security posture
- Responding to incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs
- Maintaining accurate system documentation and asset records
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Active DV Security Clearance – essential
- Solid background in IT support, administration, or technical engineering
- Strong experience with Windows environments and user administration
- Understanding of IT service management processes (incident, problem, change)
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation
