About The Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to join a busy on-site IT support team based in Central Blackpool. This is a full-time, fixed-term 12-month contract with the potential to transition into a permanent position. The role offers a competitive salary of 30,000 per annum and involves working 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive deskside and remote support to end-users, ensuring that hardware, software, and network issues are resolved promptly and efficiently. This position is ideal for a customer-focused IT professional who enjoys hands-on technical support and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and excellent communication skills to deliver an exceptional end-user experience.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience in an IT Support, IT Engineer, or Service Desk role. A strong understanding of Windows operating systems, desktop and laptop hardware troubleshooting, and networking fundamentals is essential. Candidates should possess experience supporting Microsoft Office applications, VPN connectivity, and remote support tools. Relevant certifications or hardware accreditations will be advantageous. Basic knowledge of server operating systems, Active Directory, and network builds will be considered a plus. The candidate should demonstrate excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with the ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide remote and deskside support to end users, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues efficiently.
- Diagnose and repair desktop and laptop hardware problems, including replacing components and performing break-fix repairs.
- Carry out IMAC activities (Installs, Moves, Adds, and Changes) to support organizational IT infrastructure.
- Manage and resolve support tickets within agreed service levels, ensuring timely communication with users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, including configuring network printers and end-user devices.
- Escalate complex incidents to senior team members and keep users updated throughout the resolution process.
- Maintain accurate documentation of support activities, asset records, and administrative records.
- Support IT projects and initiatives as directed by the wider IT team, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Adhere to company security, compliance, and health & safety procedures to ensure a safe and secure working environment.
