IT Support Engineer
Guildford, Surrey | Permanent | Office-based (some travel)
Salary: £32,000 – £40,000) + excellent benefits
Some local travel is required — a full UK driving licence is essential.
A growing specialist engineering company in Guildford is looking for a hands-on IT Support Engineer to join its expanding team.
You’ll deliver 1st and 2nd line support, keep the business running smoothly, and develop your skills in a supportive environment at an exciting stage of growth.
What you’ll do:
- Provide timely 1st & 2nd line support for incidents and service requests
- Troubleshoot common issues (Active Directory, password resets, MFA, software installs, basic hardware)
- Set up, configure and deploy new hardware and software
- Manage IT hardware assets and produce inventory reports
- Carry out regular maintenance and escalate complex issues
- Maintain clear documentation and help improve processes

What we’re looking for:
- Relevant IT qualification (CompTIA A+ or equivalent)
- Strong Windows 10/11 support and administration experience
- Hands-on hardware lifecycle experience (provisioning, deployment, maintenance)
- Basic networking knowledge and exposure to Active Directory / DNS / DHCP
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and familiarity with ITIL
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, user-focused approach
