About The Role

Ranson Barnes Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a well-established organisation to recruit an IT Support Technician for its Leicester site.

This is a varied, hands-on role providing technical support across several areas of the business, covering hardware, software, networks, Microsoft 365 and core business systems.

A key element of the position will be supporting and administering the company's ERP system, ideally JDE / JD Edwards, alongside resolving day-to-day IT issues and contributing to wider infrastructure and IT projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day IT support across hardware, software, networks and peripheral equipment
  • Support and administer the company's ERP system, including JDE
  • Respond to and resolve ServiceNow helpdesk tickets
  • Troubleshoot PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers and connectivity issues
  • Support Microsoft 365 including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint
  • Install, configure and maintain IT hardware and software
  • Manage user accounts, permissions and access through Active Directory and Microsoft 365
  • Support server infrastructure and virtual environments including Hyper-V
  • Assist with LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi and VPN connectivity
  • Support system upgrades, migrations, backups and cybersecurity processes
  • Maintain IT asset records and technical documentation
  • Provide guidance and support to users across the business

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within an IT Support, Service Desk or Helpdesk role
  • Experience supporting an ERP system, preferably JDE / JD Edwards
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365
  • Understanding of Active Directory
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Full UK driving licence

Experience with Microsoft Intune, Endpoint Manager, Entra ID, Hyper-V, ServiceNow or ITIL would be advantageous.

The role is predominantly based in Leicester, with occasional travel to other company sites when required.
