About Trinity College

Trinity College, founded in 1546 by Henry VIII, is one of the largest Colleges in the University of Cambridge, with some 720 undergraduates, 380 graduate students, 200 Fellows and around 360 non-academic staff. The beauty and size of Trinity’s courts attract visitors from all over the world, but the College is also a thriving, modern community, which exists to give its members a rewarding, richly resourced, and intellectually inspiring place in which to pursue their education and research.

Role Overview

Working as part of a team of ten and reporting to the Head of IT, you will help provide an excellent IT service to the College community, supporting more than 1,500 users across over 50 servers. You will provide first and second line support, troubleshoot and maintain desktop hardware, software, business systems and telephony, and help ensure the effective operation and security of the College desktop IT infrastructure.

  • Contribute to technical projects and service improvements
  • Maintain clear systems documentation
  • Work with University Information Services and external partners
  • Run the daily student drop-in support service
  • Assist with audio-visual support requests and meeting set-ups

Requirements

Candidates must have:

  • Experience supporting a Microsoft desktop infrastructure and knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra and associated tools
  • Strong problem-solving, communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to manage priorities and work independently and as part of a team

Experience in a professional IT support team is highly desirable. Experience of IT service management, Teams Telephony, macOS, IT security, servers or virtualisation would be advantageous.

Rate of Pay

£35,328 per annum plus excellent benefits.
