Role Description

This is a remote volunteer role for an IT Support Specialist & Admin Management team member. The role involves providing day-to-day technical support for staff and volunteers, including resolving issues related to desktop computers, software applications, and basic network connectivity. The IT Support Specialist will respond to help desk requests, troubleshoot technical problems, and maintain documentation of common issues and solutions. In addition, the role includes light administrative management tasks such as organizing digital files, updating internal systems, coordinating user access and permissions, and assisting with onboarding of new users to IT tools. The volunteer will collaborate with other team members to improve processes, ensure smooth IT operations, and support the organization’s mission through reliable technology and organized administration.

  • Candidates should possess skills in Technical Support and Help Desk Support to assist users with IT-related queries and service requests.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Troubleshooting and Desktop Computers to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and user environment issues.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Information Technology to manage basic systems, understand common IT tools, and support secure, efficient operations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts in clear, user-friendly language.
  • Comfort with remote collaboration tools (e.g., email, video conferencing, ticketing systems) and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail, good organizational skills, and a proactive approach to documenting processes and maintaining records.
  • Prior experience in IT support, system administration, or a related field is beneficial; relevant certifications or training (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL basics) are a plus but not mandatory.
  • Commitment to the mission of a community interest company and willingness to volunteer time to support social impact initiatives.
