IT Support Specialist (VSG UK)

POSITION:
We are seeking a junior Internal IT Support person who is a team player with excellent communication skills with a can-do attitude. The role is office based in Wallingford, Oxfordshire.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about technology and thrive under pressure in a busy environment. They will be open to learning a wide range of new skills. Having a logical approach to problem solving with excellent attention to detail.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
To work as part of an internal support team servicing requests on a variety of products across a range of businesses to ISO 27001 standards and procedures. Support will cover Desktop, Server, Active Directory, Networking, Telecommunications and Cloud Services. You will be expected to communicate via a helpdesk, email, telephone and in person to work with employees to resolve issues within defined time scales in a high-pressure environment. In addition, you will be expected to liaise with senior team members and work as part of a team on projects.

Reporting to the IT Support Coordinator, the core responsibilities are:
- Manage and servicing first and second line support tickets to ISO 27001 compliance standards following existing playbooks.
- Escalate and handover tickets to 3rd line engineers.
- Helping to create new playbooks and maintenance plans.
- Build client computer systems from script and assist with troubleshooting issues.
- Keep existing documentation up to date.
- Record processes and document for use by others.
- Promote and maintain high quality work and deliver in a professional manner.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Provide troubleshooting resolution and updating/upgrading of systems and software.
- Carry out routine network maintenance tasks such as maintaining backup and patch management to ISO 27001 standards.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in an IT & helpdesk role beneficial but not essential.
- Good knowledge of Networks and Microsoft Windows Active Directory environments.
- Hold or be working towards IT qualifications.
- Knowledge of ISO 27001 requirements.
