The Job
You'll own IT for an integrated communications agency across three offices. Not a corner of it, not a queue within it. All of it.
One day that means getting a new starter set up before their 10am induction. The next it's planning a network upgrade, testing the backups, or rescuing a boardroom screen five minutes before a client pitch. You'll be the person everyone knows and trusts to keep things working, with the freedom to decide how the agency's IT should run and the budget conversations to match.
If you're currently one engineer among many, or juggling 40 clients at an MSP, this is the other life: one business, one set of users you actually get to know, and your name on how it all works.
Responsibilities
- Manage all first point of contact interactions for IT issues and requests across our three offices, either in person, by phone and by email, or via our 3rd party provider owning each one through to resolution.
- Support a mixed Windows and Mac estate and the applications a busy agency runs on.
- Administer our core systems day to day: Microsoft 365, network, telephony, printing and meeting-room kit.
- Set up new starters and offboard leavers, from building the kit to delivering the IT induction.
- Run security monitoring, backups and disaster recovery testing, and keep everything patched.
- Plan and deliver infrastructure and improvement projects, bringing in external suppliers where a job needs more than one pair of hands.
- Manage our IT suppliers, licensing, renewals and hardware procurement, including ensuring we’re getting best value for money, and the service we’re paying for.
- Support hybrid and remote colleagues to the same standard as anyone in the office.

Location
This role will be based in our Glasgow office on a hybrid basis but travel to our offices in Aberdeen and Manchester will be ad hoc and as and when required.
Who We're Looking For
- You've done first and second-line support somewhere demanding, ideally across more than one site, and you still enjoy it.
- You can administer Microsoft 365 properly (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, users and licences), you know your way around Windows Server, DHCP and DNS, and you're as comfortable on a Mac as a PC.
- You understand backups well enough to trust yours.
- Just as important: you're good with people. Our team is deadline-driven and non-technical, and the right candidate explains things without jargon, stays calm when a client presentation is on the line, and treats a stressed colleague's printer emergency as seriously as a server fault.
- Experience with Intune, Entra ID, VoIP, web hosting or Linux is a bonus, as are certifications like CompTIA, Microsoft or ITIL. None of them matter as much as evidence you can run IT for a business on your own and enjoy doing it.
