Volunteer IT Support Team Leads

We are looking for two volunteer IT Support Team Leads to join our charity. You will help manage key systems, processes, and data, resolve IT issues, play a leading role in developing our infrastructure, and manage a team of IT volunteers.

What difference will you make?

We are an anti-bullying charity focused on supporting individuals affected by bullying through intervention, prevention, and collaborative research with university neuroscience departments. Your work will play an important role in delivering our mission, increasing awareness, and strengthening the impact of our services.

We are looking for someone with strong IT skills who is committed, reliable, and able to lead by example as a Team Leader. The successful candidate will be able to create a positive and collaborative working environment.

  • Previous experience in IT applications and systems support
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot systems and networks
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders and colleagues across the IT function
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and support multiple tasks

Leadership Skills

  • Previous experience leading or supervising a team
  • Ability to motivate and support volunteers
  • Confidence in delegating tasks and monitoring progress
  • Ability to lead by example and maintain high standards
  • Strong collaboration and conflict-resolution skills

What will you be doing?

The IT Support Team is responsible for

  • Creating new volunteer user accounts in Microsoft 365 and sending welcome emails with login instructions and guidance on using Microsoft Authenticator.
  • Removing Microsoft 365 accounts and licenses for volunteers who have left WASC.
  • Managing user access permissions for the WASC SharePoint environment.
  • Onboarding new IT team volunteers.
  • Producing user guides and support documentation for WASC users.
  • Supporting users who are unfamiliar with Microsoft 365 applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Creating and maintaining spreadsheets and other administrative tools.
  • Assisting HR with interviews and recruitment for new IT volunteers.

The IT Support Team Lead will

  • Oversee the day-to-day performance of the team and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Provide hands-on support where required.
  • Coordinate with other team leaders to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Help identify opportunities to strengthen systems, support, and team performance.
