You’ll mainly be based at our head office based in the heart of Manchester City Centre - Union on Albert Square. With some travel to Leeds/Liverpool/Birmingham and Alderley Park when necessary. For this reason it would be great if you have a driving licence (we can provide a pool car).
Job purpose
You’ll be part of a growing IT Services team of six, with an immediate team of two other 1st line support technicians. Ultimately you’ll be helping our colleagues get the best from their technology and keeping the systems they rely on running smoothly.
It’s a varied, hands-on role supporting people across our buildings, covering everything from laptops, mobiles and meeting rooms to user accounts, cloud services and IT infrastructure. You’ll also get involved in projects and improvements as we continue to develop our technology and services.
What we’re looking for
- Experience resolving IT issues across devices, applications and connectivity
- Good working knowledge of Windows, with experience supporting mobiles, printers and other workplace technology
- Experience managing user accounts, permissions and access to business systems
- An understanding of device management, software updates, patching and IT security
- Comfortable providing hands-on support across different locations and environments
- An interest in developing broader technical skills and getting involved in projects and service improvements
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to Bruntwood locations when required

What you’ll be doing
- Supporting colleagues with day-to-day technology, diagnosing and resolving issues across devices, applications and connectivity
- Setting up and supporting Windows and Apple laptops, mobiles, printers and other workplace technology
- Supporting meeting room and audio-visual technology, helping provide a reliable experience across our buildings
- Managing the IT requirements for starters, movers and leavers, including preparing devices and managing user access
- Supporting Google Workspace and other business applications used across Bruntwood
- Keeping devices secure and up to date through patching, monitoring and device management
- Supporting user accounts, permissions, backups and cloud services
- Investigating issues and working with colleagues or specialist suppliers where additional support is needed
- Contributing to IT projects and improvements, helping introduce new technology and improve existing services
