IT Support Technician – 1st / 2nd Line

Location: Ipswich, Suffolk

Salary: £27,000 – £30,000

Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are working with an established and growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) looking for an IT Support Technician to join its technical team in Ipswich.

The Role

You will provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to a range of business customers, working from the office with occasional travel to customer sites across Suffolk.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1st and 2nd line technical support via helpdesk and on-site visits
  • Troubleshooting Windows desktop environments and Microsoft 365
  • Resolving basic networking issues
  • Assisting with IT projects, upgrades and deployments
  • Supporting hardware and software installations
  • Developing your knowledge of servers, backups and IT security
  • Working collaboratively with the wider technical team
  • Participating in occasional out-of-hours support when required

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2+ years' experience in an IT support role
  • Good knowledge of Windows and Microsoft 365
  • Understanding of basic networking
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Previous MSP experience, Microsoft certifications, or an IT apprenticeship would be beneficial but are not essential.

Essential Requirement

Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential, as occasional travel to customer sites across Suffolk is required.
