Manufacturing Digitalisation Support

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Manufacturing Digitalisation Support professional at the Hull Blade Factory, you will be at the heart of our digital manufacturing environment, ensuring the reliable operation, continuous improvement, and security of digital tools and IT systems across the production floor. Acting as a key provider of both first-line and second-line IT support, you will diagnose and resolve technical issues, minimise production downtime, and deliver exceptional service to end users. Working closely with production teams, contractors, business partners, and IT colleagues, you will provide hands-on support, drive digitalisation initiatives, and help deliver innovative solutions that enhance manufacturing performance, efficiency, and user experience.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Provide dedicated IT support for production employees, contractors, and business partners, ensuring digital tools, laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and meeting room technologies operate effectively.
  • Prepare, deploy, and manage laptops, desktops, and other IT equipment, including device imaging, configuration, handover, and stock management.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues affecting production systems, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures to minimise downtime.
  • Support and maintain manufacturing digitalisation tools and technologies, including SECOMEA, VMware, SAP printing solutions, hand scanners, and related shop floor systems.
  • Coordinate and implement IT system and process changes, ensuring effective communication, reporting, and minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.
  • Contribute to local and strategic IT projects, including AI tool deployment, shop floor technology enhancements, Blade Changeout initiatives, Optical Blade solutions, and systems integration activities.
  • Build strong relationships with users by providing training, conducting inductions, and delivering exceptional support to improve adoption and user satisfaction.
  • Manage procurement and inventory of IT equipment, ensuring devices and resources are readily available to support business requirements.
  • Support and maintain server, camera, key management, and network infrastructure to ensure system reliability and business continuity.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with proven IT support experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing digital tools, IT infrastructure, device management, server support, and production system technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex technical issues, identify root causes, and deliver effective solutions in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, standards, and access control processes within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support projects, system changes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with SECOMEA, VMware, Dameware, SAP printing, hand scanners, CCTV systems, process cameras, and network support technologies.
  • Willingness to work regularly within a factory environment while adhering to all Health & Safety standards and supporting a Zero Harm culture.
