About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and professional IT Support Technician to join our team on an initial 3-month contract basis. This role is based at our office in Tolvaddon and involves acting as the first point of contact for our service desk. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to multiple client organizations, managing various IT environments, operating systems, and hardware components. You will work closely with senior engineers on project tasks and perform routine maintenance on servers and networking hardware to ensure seamless IT operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to expand their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment while gaining valuable experience in a variety of IT support functions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a service desk or support role, demonstrating strong technical knowledge and customer service skills. Relevant qualifications include familiarity with Microsoft 365 Admin Centre, supporting Windows Client Operating Systems, and supporting Microsoft Office applications. Hands-on experience with Active Directory tools and a basic understanding of network technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP is essential. Candidates should either possess or be working towards Microsoft 365/Azure fundamentals certification. A proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently are key attributes for this role.

Responsibilities

The IT Support Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Customer service support - acting as the primary contact point, receiving, logging, and resolving support requests promptly and professionally.
  • IT infrastructure - deploying, configuring, and maintaining IT infrastructure components to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Systems installation and removal - installing, testing, and decommissioning systems or system components as required.
  • Security operations - implementing and managing security controls, strategies, and administrative services to safeguard client data and systems.
  • Network support - providing ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and support for communication networks to ensure reliable connectivity.
  • Application support - managing and supporting live applications, ensuring their stability, security, and performance.
