IT Systems and Security Operator
This is a chance to join a major organisation at the heart of a large-scale technology transformation, helping keep critical systems secure, resilient and running around the clock. You’ll play an important role in maintaining the technology behind one of the UK’s best-known national services.
Role Overview:
- Location: Tiger Court, Knowsley
- Package: £35,000 p/a + 20% shift uplift
- Industry: Technology / IT Operations
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Monitor critical IT infrastructure, networks, storage, applications and batch processes across a 24/7 operation.
- Identify incidents, delays and potential issues quickly, taking appropriate action to restore or maintain service.
- Support the secure and accurate running and results alongside internal teams and external auditors.
- Provide operational support across both live and test environments.
- Work across data centre, network and service management operations to maintain high levels of availability and resilience.
- Help train and develop junior team members, sharing your knowledge and supporting their day-to-day capability.
- Step up and deputise for the Shift Lead when required.
- Take on a varied range of operational responsibilities to support wider business needs.

Main Skills Needed:
- Experience working with server, application or network monitoring and management tools.
- Familiarity with automated scheduling or batch-processing platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Ideally, experience with Microsoft applications and ServiceNow.
- Comfortable working in a 24/7 operational environment where reliability, security and attention to detail are essential.
