About The Role
We are seeking experienced IT Systems Engineers to join our Leidos engineering capability. This role involves working closely with customers and suppliers to execute comprehensive Systems Engineering activities throughout the entire lifecycle of projects, with a particular focus on low-level system design. The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of systems engineering principles, including integrating software products from various suppliers, managing requirements, and ensuring seamless system integration. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your technical expertise will directly contribute to mission-critical projects. The role requires a proactive individual capable of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, managing artefacts, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and processes. The position offers flexibility, with a mix of remote work and on-site presence, primarily in Farnborough and occasional travel to customer locations in Greater London.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of proven experience in a Systems Engineering role within IT or software systems. A solid understanding of systems engineering frameworks such as INCOSE, NAF, DODAF, MODAF, or MBSE is essential. Candidates should possess a good working knowledge of software and hardware used in IT systems technologies and have experience working within both Agile and Waterfall delivery models. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience. Familiarity with system modelling tools like SysML, UML, Cameo, or Archimate is advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, along with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM) to ensure accurate mapping of system requirements.
- Update artefacts including designs and documentation to align with RVTM, ensuring traceability and consistency.
- Collaborate with Testers to review requirements against test cases and acceptance criteria, identify gaps, and propose solutions to mitigate risks.
- Define, document, and obtain stakeholder approval for acceptance criteria to ensure clear understanding and agreement.
- Support the definition and design of system interfaces, ensuring compatibility and seamless integration.
- Implement version control for all relevant systems engineering artefacts and interfaces to maintain integrity and traceability.
- Document and manage programme V-Model activities and artefacts, liaising closely with delivery team leads.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to integrate hardware, software, and network components effectively.
- Develop and document data flow diagrams and data matrix views to support system understanding and analysis.
- Contribute to the Systems Concept of Operations document by defining processes and documenting system approaches.
- Track project progress, dependencies, and deliverables, providing regular updates and reports to stakeholders.
- Review and update the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) as necessary to reflect project changes and improvements.
- Document engineering management and governance processes to ensure compliance and best practices across projects.
