Role Overview
We are looking for an IT Systems Engineer to join our Advanced Materials & Chemicals division onsite in Rochester, NY. You will support Film Finishing organization within the Industrial Films and Chemicals division at Eastman Business Park. In this role, you’ll provide technical support and engineering expertise in IT infrastructure, software applications and operational systems. This position will frequently participate in troubleshooting, system administration, process improvements, software support, and short- and long-term technology projects that improve equipment reliability, security, and efficiency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support for manufacturing IT infrastructure and applications
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and system issues
- Assist with deployment, maintenance, and upgrades of servers, workstations, and virtual environments
- Participate in software development, scripting, and automation projects to improve operational efficiency
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
- Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles
- Partner with operations, engineering, and business teams to implement technical solutions
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and technology modernization projects
- Lead capital projects from concept through implementation

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 0-5 years of relevant experience with Associate's degree.
- Strong programming skills with proficiency in C#, PowerShell, SQL, VB6/VB.NET
- Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, organize, and execute projects
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project)
- A strong work ethic, high motivation, and Self-Starter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience or coursework in software programming and scripting
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Hyper-V
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and system hardening principles
- Experience troubleshooting PC hardware, peripherals, and operating systems
- Familiarity with database management or reporting tools
- Primary support for Windows and Linux environments; comfortable navigating both CLI and GUI for administration and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and subnetting in a large-scale enterprise environment.
