I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

IT Infrastructure

  • Take overall responsibility for the company's IT infrastructure following an initial handover.
  • Manage and support networks, servers, endpoints, Microsoft 365 and business applications.

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, onboarding and offboarding.
  • Maintain accurate records of hardware, software licences, suppliers and IT contracts.
  • Maintain IT documentation, including infrastructure information, backup and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Manage relationships with external IT providers and technology vendors.

About You

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience administering and supporting an ERP system, including configuration, user management and reporting.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across ERP, software, hardware, networking and general IT.

Desirable Experience

  • DocuWare or similar document management/workflow systems.
  • Experience supporting an ERP implementation, migration or major upgrade.
  • Experience managing external IT and ERP support partners.
  • Microsoft 365 administration and general infrastructure knowledge.

Why Join?

This is an excellent opportunity to take genuine ownership of a company's ERP and IT systems, rather than operating within a large IT function where responsibilities are narrowly defined.

You'll have the opportunity to influence how systems are used across the business, improve processes, introduce efficiencies and shape the future development of the IT environment.

If you're an experienced ERP or IT Systems professional looking for a broad, autonomous role where you can make a real difference, we'd like to hear from you.
