About the Role
Yang Ming (UK) Ltd is looking for an IT Systems & Network Assistant to join our Electronic Data Processing team at our Romford office.
The successful candidate will help maintain the company’s server, network, and end-user computing environment. The role will also provide technical support for the head-office ERP system and assist with routine database-related activities.
This is a full-time, office-based role, working from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the daily operation and maintenance of the server room, server systems, and network infrastructure.
- Assist with the administration and maintenance of Windows, Linux, and Unix server environments.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network connectivity and system performance issues.
- Provide day-to-day technical support to users for computers, software, and related IT equipment.
- Install, configure, and maintain client computers and approved business applications.
- Support the head-office in-house ERP system and liaise with the relevant support teams when required.
- Assist with routine database administration and troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate IT documentation, system records, and equipment information.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior colleagues, head office, or external support providers.
- Undertake occasional evening or weekend work when operationally required.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related subject.
- A good understanding of Windows operating systems and computer networking.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Professional-level written and spoken English.
- Ability to organize work effectively and follow technical procedures.

Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, or Unix administration.
- Understanding of networking technologies and network administration.
- Familiarity with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or PL/SQL.
- Previous experience in IT support, systems administration, or network support.
Previous professional IT experience is desirable but not essential. Applications from graduates and candidates beginning their IT careers are welcome.
