Our client is a leading membership body supporting its members through education, professional development, learning, and membership services. The organisation is committed to maintaining high professional standards and delivering excellent experiences for its members and learners.
As part of its continued investment in technology and digital transformation, the organisation is looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering technology-enabled change across education, learning, membership, and operational services.
Your Role
As Technical Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of technical projects, from initiation and planning through to implementation, go-live, and transition into business-as-usual operations.
You will work across a range of technology platforms and will be particularly focused on Microsoft Dynamics 365, Business Central, Microsoft CRM solutions, and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
A key part of the role will be ensuring that technology solutions effectively support learners, members, and internal teams, while improving processes and delivering a positive user experience.
You will:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of technical projects, ensuring they are delivered to agreed scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Apply appropriate project delivery methodologies, with proven hands-on experience of DSDM being essential, alongside Agile and Waterfall approaches.
- Develop and maintain detailed project and delivery plans, proactively managing risks, issues, dependencies, and milestones.
- Coordinate internal technical teams, business stakeholders, and external suppliers.
- Lead and oversee implementations, configuration, and optimisation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and CRM solutions.
- Manage integrations between membership, learning, finance, and operational systems, including LMS platforms.
- Oversee technology upgrades, enhancements, configuration changes, and system improvements.
- Lead delivery activity relating to LMS and member-facing platforms, including functionality supporting assessments, CPD tracking, revision, and learner/member records.
- Ensure technology solutions align with business requirements, architectural standards, security, and governance requirements.
- Act as the key delivery interface between business teams, IT, and external suppliers.
- Support stakeholders in defining requirements and understanding technical options, constraints, and dependencies.
- Manage technical and delivery risks, issues, change control, and project governance.
- Oversee system testing and User Acceptance Testing, ensuring solutions meet agreed functional and non-functional requirements.
- Manage and oversee data migration and transformation activities, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
- Support reporting requirements across membership, learning, and operational platforms.
- Contribute to training, documentation, operational readiness, and successful transition into business-as-usual support.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and workflows through technology.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to the continuous improvement of project delivery practices.

What You Need to Be Successful
We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong track record of delivering technology projects and implementations.
You will need:
- 5+ years' experience as a Technical Project Manager, ideally within education, professional membership, training, or a similar environment.
- Proven experience managing both large and small technology projects within an improvement or transformation programme.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience of DSDM - this is an essential requirement for the role.
- Strong experience delivering projects using DSDM, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Proven experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Microsoft CRM implementations.
- Experience working with leading Learning Management Systems (LMS), particularly platforms supporting assessments, CPD, revision, and student/member records.
- Strong understanding of system integration, APIs, data migration, and data transformation.
- Excellent project planning, delivery, and lifecycle management skills.
- Experience managing budgets, resources, suppliers, and third-party vendors.
- Strong risk, issue, dependency, governance, and quality assurance experience.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- A strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Experience using project management and planning tools such as MS Planner, MS Project, MS Roadmap, Trello, and/or JIRA.
- Strong monitoring, reporting, and quality assurance capabilities.
- An understanding of reporting tools and dashboards such as Power BI and SQL would be advantageous.
- A good understanding of programme management and the full project lifecycle.
- The ability to manage multiple objectives, changing deadlines, and competing priorities while ensuring delivery remains on track.
- Strong self-management and organisational skills.
- The flexibility to respond to changing business and customer needs.
- The ability to remain composed under pressure and maintain smooth project operations.
- The ability to work collaboratively and influence stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
