Location: Altrincham
Salary: £30,000
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm
We’re looking for an experienced IT Technician to join a busy technical team, supporting the configuration, testing, deployment and troubleshooting of a wide range of equipment.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong technical background who enjoys working across hardware, networking and software, and who is confident supporting both internal engineering teams and customers.
The Role
As an IT Technician, you’ll be responsible for preparing and configuring equipment for technical deployments, carrying out testing and diagnostics, and providing technical support where required.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Configuring and testing a range of IT hardware, including tablets, laptops, kiosks, tills, customer display units, switches, routers and servers
- Troubleshooting hardware, software and networking issues and carrying out diagnostics
- Configuring networks, servers, switches and computer hardware
- Supporting the build and optimisation of IT solutions
- Producing accurate and clear technical documentation
- Managing your own workload in line with project schedules and deadlines
- Carrying out quality control checks to ensure equipment meets required standards
- Working closely with engineering teams during technical deployments
- Providing remote technical support where required
- Supporting the wider technical team, including occasional visits to another UK site
- Carrying out occasional site installations and customer visits to install or configure EPOS equipment
- Supporting ad-hoc technical projects and installations as required

About You
We’re looking for someone with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience within IT or EPOS, ideally with experience of technical deployments involving a variety of hardware, networking and software.
You’ll Ideally Have
- Strong experience configuring networks, servers, switches and computer hardware
- Previous experience working with EPOS systems
- Good knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, including Windows 7–11 and Windows Server 2012–2022
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and Teams
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to manage your own workload and work to deadlines
- A proactive, self-motivated approach
- The ability to work effectively as part of a technical team
- The flexibility to adapt to changing priorities

Desirable
- Basic knowledge of electronics
- Comfortable working with repetitive technical tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Physically capable of handling the practical demands of a hands-on technical role
- Full UK driving licence would be advantageous
