About The Role
We are seeking a confident and dedicated IT Technician / Computer Hardware Engineer to join our team as an EPOS Field Service Engineer. This role involves performing hardware swaps and maintenance on IT and EPOS equipment, including electronic point of sale systems, across various retail locations in the West Midlands region. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently on-site, troubleshooting hardware issues, and providing exceptional service to our clients. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in PC hardware and a willingness to learn EPOS systems, with comprehensive training provided. The role requires a flexible approach, including working weekends, participating in an overnight emergency call-out rota, and driving to multiple client sites daily. A fully expensed company van will be provided to facilitate travel across the designated area, with the primary focus on maintaining high standards of service and technical expertise.

Qualifications
- Full manual driving license is essential.
- Proven experience in PC hardware, IT support, or related technical roles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to undergo training on EPOS hardware systems.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and participate in emergency call-out rotations.
- Reliable and proactive attitude towards work commitments.
Responsibilities
- Perform hardware swaps, repairs, and maintenance on IT and EPOS equipment at retail locations.
- Attend field service calls across multiple sites, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
- Diagnose hardware issues and provide effective solutions on-site or remotely.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new EPOS systems and peripherals.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, parts used, and issues resolved.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all field operations.
- Participate in on-call rotations, providing emergency support outside of standard working hours.
- Continuously update technical knowledge through training sessions and self-learning initiatives.

Benefits
Our employees enjoy a comprehensive package that includes a fully expensed company van with personal use, a competitive salary of £31,200 plus overtime opportunities, and additional shift and rotation pay of approximately £3,900 annually. The role offers a full-time, permanent PAYE contract with standard working hours from 09:00 to 17:30, with overtime paid at enhanced rates. Employees are entitled to paid holidays, pension scheme participation, and private medical insurance.
