The Role:
Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, the IT Technician will support coordinating, planning, and supporting the business with IT-related activities. The position will help determine the IT needs of the organisation and is responsible for IT equipment and systems to fulfil the business’ requirements.
The IT Technician will be employed by FEC, and will also support operations across the wider group, including We are Found (the in-house property management & operations business) and DEX Construction (the in-house construction division).
The scope of the IT Technician’s responsibilities varies, duties include; managing the internal IT support desk, maintaining relationships with our external suppliers, liaising with various departments across the organisation and building relationships with staff.

- Responsible for the IT helpdesk management for all IT related incidents across our various offices and sites and when necessary, escalating to the external third-party support partners.
- Managing the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, and support of the business IT systems and equipment. This includes operating systems, virtual machines, PCs, software and peripherals.
- Procurement of IT equipment including Windows and iOS covering desktops, laptops and phones.
- Assisting our offices and sites in the use of video conference technology focusing on MS Teams, Logitech and Yealink.
Personal Specifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following traits or competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Keen and willing to learn via in-house or personal training courses.
- Willingness to travel between multiple office and site locations spread across London and Manchester.
- A drive to learn new technologies and progress their own career.
Essential skills:
- Previous IT support experience.
- Microsoft Azure tenancy with Microsoft 365 Products, Apps, and Services.
- Active Directory management.
- Microsoft SharePoint and Intune deployment and administration.
- Support for deployed printers.
- Support for company mobile phones and other mobile devices (Apple & Android).
- Experience with Microsoft Defender.
Preferred but not essential:

- Experience in the use of IT governance and certification such as ISO and Cyber Essentials.
- Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations administration & support experience.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Power BI, Powershell.
- Video Conference technology focusing on MS Teams, Zoom, Logitech and Yealink products and services.
- Ubiquiti Unifi wireless access points and networks.
- FortiNet FortiGate and FortiSwitch devices and networks.
- Barracuda Networks email security software.
