South Lee Prep School and Nursery are looking for an IT Technician to join our hard-working and inclusive team. You will be a friendly, hardworking and flexible member of our school team.

Job Description: IT Technician

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated and dedicated IT Technician to join our Prep School team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving and wants to build their career in IT, while working in a supportive and friendly school environment. Our school has a proactive and forward-looking ethos and has won awards for its innovative use of technology to enhance learning. In addition to providing technical support, this role would suit someone who is keen to make an impact and who will value having their voice heard when implementing new ideas. You’ll be encouraged to be on the front foot, helping us shape the future of technology in education.

Skills and Experience

  • Provide daily technical support for staff and pupils
  • Manage and maintain the school’s Microsoft 365 environment, including Teams and ENGAGE
  • Support and administer Jamf School MDM for both 1 to 1 and shared iPads
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues promptly
  • Ensure devices are secure, updated, and ready for classroom use
  • Assist with onboarding new staff and students to school systems
  • Liaise with external IT providers when required
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to support non-technical users
  • Appreciation of the demands of working in a busy school setting
  • Be organised, reliable, and able to work independently
  • Previous school experience is not essential – this role may suit someone at the start of their IT career or someone seeking a change of environment.

Terms of Employment

  • A part-time role: 10 hour working week
  • 6 weeks holiday pro rata (must be taken in school holidays)
