IT Workplace Engineer
Location: Remote with regular travel across the Anchor portfolio
Contract: 37.5 hours per week | Permanent | 3 roles available
Salary: £36,000 per annum + £5,800 car allowance
We're looking for an IT Workplace Engineer to join our team. This is a brand-new role at Anchor and offers the successful candidate the opportunity to play a key part in improving technology support across the organisation.
This is a hands-on role supporting colleagues across our care homes, housing locations and offices. You'll work across a wide range of workplace technologies, resolving complex issues, supporting device lifecycle activities and helping improve the way technology is delivered across Anchor.
You'll also work closely with the IT Service Desk, technical teams, suppliers and using your knowledge and experience, look to understand and resolve issues in a timely manner in support of our colleagues.
What you'll be doing
- Provide remote and on-site support for devices, Microsoft 365, telephony, Wi-Fi, networking, printing, collaboration tools & telecare systems.
- Take ownership of complex technical issues, using hands-on troubleshooting and investigation to identify the cause and find practical solutions.
- Assist with meeting room technology, peripherals and workplace technology rollouts.
- Carry out site visits to investigate issues, identify local improvements and provide hands-on support.
- Use service data and analytics to identify recurring issues, investigate trends and find opportunities to improve services.
- Work closely with Service Desk, suppliers and operational teams to improve service performance and support for colleagues.
- Support technology changes, new service transitions and adoption activities across the business.
- Help shape workplace engineering standards, ways of working and improvements as the role develops.

What you'll bring
- Experience supporting modern workplace technologies and networks across a multi-site field-based environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows devices, networking, Wi-Fi, mobile devices and peripherals.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft 365, Intune and endpoint management principles.
- Experience delivering device deployments, refreshes and lifecycle activities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate issues, identify root causes and find practical solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work confidently with colleagues, managers, suppliers and technical teams.
- Understanding of ITIL Incident and Problem Management practices.
- ITIL Foundation certification is desirable.
