Guardian Glass is one of the world's largest manufacturers of float, coated and fabricated glass products. Our Goole plant plays an important role in serving customers across the UK and Ireland through safe, reliable and efficient manufacturing operations.
We are looking for an IT/OT System Administrator to join our team in Goole. In this role, you will support the plant's IT and Operational Technology infrastructure, working closely with Operations, Engineering, vendors and global IT/OT teams. You will help maintain reliable systems, support technology projects, troubleshoot issues and contribute to practical improvements in the manufacturing environment.
What You Will Do
- Ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of plant OT infrastructure and Process Network environments.
- Provide day-to-day support for OT systems, network infrastructure, plant-connected devices, and related operational technologies.
- Support cybersecurity, patching, antivirus, backup, and compliance activities in accordance with corporate standards.
- Assist with the implementation of technology projects, upgrades, and lifecycle management activities.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate timely resolution of incidents to minimize operational impact.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and global support teams to maintain secure and stable plant operations.
- Manage technical documentation, asset information, and configuration records.
- Coordinate external vendors and service providers supporting plant technology systems.
- Support change, maintenance, and disaster recovery activities while following approved operational procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement through proactive identification of risks, opportunities, and reliability enhancements.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Working knowledge of current network communications devices and protocols as well as server and desktop technologies, especially Windows Server.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
- Previous work experience following change management procedures and maintaining a highly available infrastructure.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A self-motivated, energetic, and dynamic team player who enjoys solving problems, driving continuous improvement, and collaborating across multiple disciplines.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience supporting, administering, and maintaining servers, workstations, and network infrastructure in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Basic knowledge of Industrial Control System (ICS) components, including HMI, SCADA, data collection, and Historian systems.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as OPC, Profinet, and Modbus.
- Basic understanding of PLC-controlled systems and industrial automation environments.
- Working knowledge of Cisco networking technologies and VMware virtualization platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to support day-to-day OT operations and ensure system availability.
- Experience with system monitoring, incident resolution, and routine maintenance activities in an operational environment.
