Position Description
At CGI, we help clients turn complex service challenges into practical improvements that create lasting business value. As a IT Service Management (ITSM) Consultant, you’ll work with clients to analyse problems, uncover opportunities and shape solutions that improve how technology services support their organisations. You’ll take ownership of analysis and recommendations, using evidence and structured problem solving to influence decisions and deliver measurable outcomes. You’ll have the freedom to explore new ideas and challenge assumptions while working alongside an open, collaborative community of experts who will support your development. This is an opportunity to strengthen your consulting expertise, build trusted client relationships and contribute to services and solutions that make a meaningful difference.
CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.
Your future duties and responsibilities
As an ITSM Consultant, you will work as part of our advisory team working with clients and other CGI teams to understand business and service management challenges, gather relevant information and apply structured analysis to identify practical solutions. You’ll take ownership of your analysis, draw evidence-based conclusions and communicate recommendations clearly through high-quality reports, presentations and other client deliverables.
You’ll collaborate with a range of stakeholders to shape and support the implementation of agreed solutions, bringing new ideas to ambiguous or complex challenges. Supported by experienced colleagues and CGI’s wider community of experts, you’ll deepen your service management and consulting expertise while contributing to client engagements, proposals and future business opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
